Well, I'm back. I was at the 2017 Jamboree site for a week long Aaronic Priesthood Encampment. It was in West Virginia. Their theme was "G.R.I.T." and it was... okay. It was a solid six on a scale of one to ten. They divided the people there into two main groups: Adventure and Advancement. Advancement people worked on merit badges whilst the Adventure people had fun. I was on Advancement, and the merit badges were okay. They weren't great and you couldn't finish them in the two day time slot. The time in the mornings for the Aaronic Priesthood workshops were definitely better. The food was fine. We did not have to cook it. It was tasty, and Breakfast always had yogurt. But there was a catch: to get to the eating pavilion you had to walk a mile. The rides were all very far away, and to be on the zip-line had a very long line for a fifteen second ride. Same as the rock wall. And the lake. Basically, everything was so far away that to go there, stay in line, and get back took all the free time for the Advancement. I hope the Jamboree has a different setup.
Overall, it was fine. Each day got progressively better.
But my friend who's going to the Jamboree is going to have lots of fun (maniacal laugh)
