the Phantom of the Opera (2004) is an incredible cinematic masterpiece. The acting is great, the plot is great, the music is especially great (the Phantom of the Opera is my favorite). There is only one problem: the movie gets boring after two hours. The last twenty-three minutes are pretty boring. Everything else is good. It's quotable. It's enjoyable. It has so many plots it's actually impressive to not be convoluted. Christine Daie likes the Phantom, but after he freaked out about his mask, she was like, "DEATH". And she also likes Raoul, a really nice wealthy guy. The Phantom freaks out, makes a life-sized mannequin (she appropriately faints), somehow woos her, and then... what? She gets singing lessons? What was his intent? Why was the mirror built that leads to a sewer? It doesn't make sense. But other than that, I really enjoyed the film. I highly recommend it (and I may do a review of Les Miserables).
