Yay! I have waited for this day since reading the Artemis Fowl books way back when in 2015. But, I'm not sure when the date was released, or if it is old news, but the Artemis Fowl movie date is confirmed! Artemis Fowl is hitting theaters August 9th, 2019.
It's so far away.
In case you don't know, Artemis Fowl is a series of books about Artemis Fowl, a twelve-year-old genius who learns of the magical world. The story is great. The characters are odd. It has eight great books (except the fourth one, but that might be because I read it in paperback. Paperback's the worst), and an odd ending.
The only bad news is that it'll be combining the first two books together, which I think is bad. Artemis kidnaps a fairy, and how that fairy will become his friend in... maybe two scenes, altogether about 12 minutes, will be unbelievable. But, hey, if no one cared about how easily Rey mastered the Force, they might be able to deal with this too. The only way to worm their way out of this would be to split the two books into separate movies or to change the plotline... which would be bad, turning the series into what Percy Jackson 1 was, a movie based on a book that only took the base and outline of the plot and characters and changed everything else.
But, combining two books is bad. The plot and characterizations will be bad, but it'll be an Artemis Fowl movie, so who cares?
