Alright, I am watching a movie, and I thought to myself, "I like this movie. It's a shame that it'll never get a sequel," and then I thought, "Why not make a list of all the good movies that won't get sequels?"
So here we are.
Serenity (2005)
Serenity is the movie based off of the highly popular Firefly series, which was canceled after one season. So they got a movie. But sadly, we will never get a sequel. The movie wasn't that much of a box office success, and even though it was received well by critics, we'll never get a sequel.
Hitch (2005)
Will Smith's 2005 comedy Hitch was hilarious and quotable. It's a shame that 12 years later we still don't have a sequel.
the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was a quirky British comedy based off of Douglas Adams' novel of the same name. The film boosted Martin Freeman up to a known level, leading him to get roles such as Bilbo, Watson, and Everett K. Ross. The humor was either hit or miss. For me, it was hit. Everytime. But for some people it was miss, and that's why we won't get a sequel.
Rise of the Guardians (2012)
Rise of the Guardians was a fun and zippy film, with great animation and casting. It was received well and grossed well. That's why it's sad we won't get a sequel, because it was a so-so film compared to the other "amazing" DreamWorks films, such as Shrek 4, Trolls, and the Boss Baby.
Inception (2012)
Inception was is a great film. A great film that everyone liked. The visuals were great, the casting was great, and everything about was wacky, but a wacky that sat in your brain the right way. So, it's a shame that we won't get a sequel. I don't even know why, but if we did get a sequel, it would be awful compared to this masterpiece.
Ghostbusters (2016)
Ghostbusters (2016) was a fun and hilarious film that I personally thought it was better than the original trilogy, but honestly, my opinion seems to be E Pluribus Unum. However, it wasn't much of a box office grosser and received polarized reviews, ranging from "It sucks. It's irreverent to make a Ghostbusters reboot. It's bad that all the Ghostbusters are girls" to "I love it. It's funny, it fun, and better than the original."
Ender's Game (2013)
Ender's Game was a great movie that I loved. The acting, the CGI, the soundtrack, they were all amazing. However, it wasn't a hit at the box office and received mixed reviews. However, I think the real reason the movie flopped was because of the comments of the original book's writer, Orson Scott Card, who has said some regrettable things that people didn't like.
