Alright. I did not know this, but they released the cast of Artemis Fowl.
Ferdia Shaw - Artemis Fowl
This guy looks okay.
Judi Dench - Commander Root
What? Judi Dench is an 83-year-old woman... Commander Root was, like, 50, and a male. This gives my a lot of concerns about this film.
Josh Gad - Mulch Diggums
Good for them. Josh Gad is great.
Lara McDonnell - Holly Short
She seems okay.
Nonso Anozie - Butler
Eh... okay. I don't mind that he's black.
Concerns:
Well, based off of a plot summary and this cast, Artemis Fowl is, sadly, probably going to suck. Based off of the cast and the plot summary, they have no intention of doing anything the book did. Which is sad.
One: The movie will combine books one and two.
This will rush the plot and character development. Especially Holly. This probably means they'll combine the two plots in a mesh of a sad film. Especially if they have the Koboi revolution right after the time stop. It'll be like:
"Fine Artemis. We'll give you the gold. But we will never forgive you."
"I'm fine with that."
"Oh wait. We need your help. Our weapons are useless and there's a goblin uprising."
"Oh. Okay. My Mom's okay, but you need to help my dad now. He's missing in the Arctic Circle."
"D'Arvit."
Two: It has no intention of following the books.
For example, Holly Short is supposed to be the first female officer in the LEP. What? Now it's Root and Holly's no one special. LAME.
Did you see the cast? Especially Root. What the heck. This will be the new Percy Jackson. Sucky adaptation of great book that really screws it up.
