Scott Pilgrim vs. the World review!

Alright! Today I'm reviewing Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, which apparently I'm a little late on, seeing as how it came out in 2010. But now it's on Netflix and school's out, so I have nothing better to do.

So, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the cult classic directed by Edgar Wright, is here.

A blond boy in a green T-shirt and jeans playing an electric guitar against a red background.I like it's style.

I like it's humor.

I like it's cast.

I like it's visual effects.

I like it.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is about Scott Pilgrim, a 22 year old who is a bassist for his band. When he meets Ramona Flowers, an Amazon delivery girl, he must defeat her seven evil exes in order to date her.

So, yeah. Spoiler alert, I guess. Does it count if the movie is nine years old?

I would like to say that this is one of my top five favorite films right now. And I have seen a lot of movies. I like this movie so much I was able to watch 3 times in 4 days and enjoy it and laugh every time. Not a lot of movies have that kind of rewatchability.

Unlike most movies, every single character here is distinct. Not underdeveloped, not just "There," each one has it's own purpose in the plot and their own personality, unlike some big blockbusters.

This movie is small in scale but large in mind, with incredible shots and incredible special effects.

If Ready Player One was the movie for movie references, then this one is definitely the movie for video game references (They both do the climax twice due to an extra life they got by defeating a previous challenge). It feels like a video game.

And that's fine by me.
Also pointing this out; Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) also played Robin in the LEGO Batman Movie, dated Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), and beat up not only Captain America (Chris Evans) but also Superman (Brandon Routh).

And, the movie has it's own style to it, you know? Like, if you saw something painted by Jackson Pollock, you would know. And Edgar Wright really succeeds here, because through the film's excellent transitions, humor, and vfx style (Mixing 8 bit with live action!), it really feels different.

Overall Rating: 9/10 "Scott Pilgrim is awesome because of a very distinct style and very distinct and constant humor."
