The Infinity Stones and Where to Find Them

The Infinity War trailer has been released, and (mostly because I can't keep track of them myself), I thought I would make a list of where the Infinity Stones are:
(I'm numbering them by their first appearance).

CollectorInfinityStonesThe Infinity Stones appear in: Captain America: the First Avenger, the Avengers, Thor: the Dark World, Captain America: the Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther (probably), and Avengers: Infinity War

"Before creation itself, there were six singularities. Then the universe exploded into existence, and the remnant of these systems were forged into concentrated ingots... Infinity Stones."
--the Collector's explanation of the Infinity Stones to the Guardians of the Galaxy, 2014.

So what happened was that the universe exploded into the one we know today, and the before aspects of it were put into tiny little fragments, which are known as the Infinity Stones. Avengers: Infinity War is about how the main villain, Thanos, is trying to collect all of them to take over the Universe. In the Infinity War trailer, Thanos is seen with one already and putting the Tesseract into the Infinity Gauntlet.

0.5. The Infinity Gauntlet

The Infinity Gauntlet is a glove that allows the wearer to use all six Infinity Stone.

1. The Space Stone (Tesseract)

Appears in: Captain America: the First Avenger, the Avengers, Thor: Ragnarok, and Avengers: Infinity War

The Space Stone made it's first appearance in Captain America: the First Avenger as a Hydra weapon, which failed, and then sunk into the ocean and was later retrieved by Howard Stark and then and later made it's way into the hands of S.H.I.E.L.D.  In the Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D. used it's power to open a portal and accidentally let Loki onto Earth. He took the Space Stone and used the Mind Stone to mind control Hawkeye and Dr. Erik Selvig into helping him release a huge portal that let the Chitauri onto Earth. They closed the portal and Thor took the Stone up to Asgard. Later, in Thor: Ragnarok it's seen in a scene where Hela looks at it and says, "Not bad." It is later seen when Loki walks past it.
In the Infinity War trailer, Loki is seen holding the Cube over the bodies of dead (presumably) Asgardians, where he is giving it to (presumably) Thanos, confirming he did take it in Ragnarok.

2. The Mind Stone (Scepter)

Appears in: the Avengers, Captain America: the Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War

The Mind Stone was in Loki's scepter. He used his scepter to control the minds of both Hawkeye and Dr. Erik Selvig to help make a portal to space. So, the Avengers got the scepter and then it somehow made it's way to the Hydra base, where the Avengers took it from Baron Von Strucker. Then, before Thor takes it to Asgard, Tony (Iron Man) runs some tests on it and ultimately creates Ultron. Ultron takes the scepter and uses it to mind control Helen Cho (Fun fact: She's the mom of Amadeus Cho, who later dons the Iron Spider suit in the comics) to make him a new and perfect body. He gets the body and puts the Mind Stone in it. The body is stolen by the Avengers (at the cost of Black Widow, who is captured by Ultron). Tony (Iron Man) does the same thing he did in the first place, but Thor hits it with Mjolnir and this somehow made the body good. The body manifested itself as Vision and joined the Avengers. The stone has remained with him since.
In the Infinity War trailer, the stone is seen getting forcefully removed from Vision's head. He is also seen as a human with a stone shaped mark on his forehead. This leaves three possibilities:
1. He dies
2. He survives and is left human
3. It was a dream sequence (the human part)

3. The Reality Stone (Aether)

Appears in: Thor: the Dark World, and Avengers: Infinity War

Normal thor-darkworld 5351The Aether first appeared in Thor: the Dark World as something the Dark Elf Malekith used to try and take over Earth. As Thor: the Dark World was forgettable, this is the Infinity Stone that is most often forgotten. After the Asgardians regain the Aether, they give it to the Collector, who looks at it and says, "One down. Five to go," or something like that. It has not been seen since. Since then, however, the Collector's little house has been destroyed, so it may or may not have been sold.
In the Infinity War trailer, the Aether is not seen. In leaked information, Thanos has been seen/heard torturing the Collector on information on the Aether. He says he sold it, and Thanos says he wouldn't have. So, in short, I don't know where the Stone is.

4. The Power Stone (the Orb)

Appears in: Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers: Infinity War

Guardians Of The Galaxy NOM0910 comp v037.1043The Orb is first seen in GotG (Guardians of the Galaxy) where Peter Quill (Star Lord), steals it from an abandoned planet. He tries to sell it to his bidder, who refuses to buy it since Ronan the Accuser, a Kree who hates Xandarians (the bidder's race) was involved. Through a bunch of twists and turns and loopholes, the Guardians try to sell it to the Collector, who takes it. His servant tries to wield the Stone's power and ends up destroying both herself and the Collector's home. Ronan gets the Orb and the Guardians stop him by using the Stone's power. After Ronan dies, the Guardians leave it on Xandar in the hands of the Nova Corps.
In the Infinity War trailer, the Infinity Gauntlet is seen with the Stone already inside. Obviously this was his first stone and most likely the easiest. The stone was left on a planet with NO defense systems.

5. The Time Stone (the Eye of Agamotto)

Appears in: Doctor Strange, and Avengers: Infinity War

Benedict-cumberbatch-doctor-strange-movie
Eye of Agamotto Hong KongIn Doctor Strange, the stone is first used by Stephen Strange (Doctor Strange) to reverse the life of an apple, mostly to see if he could/how it worked. The main villain, Kaecillius, arrives in the Sanctum Sanctorum (where the Stone was). Strange, still wearing the Stone, travels with it to several places and finally into outer space to stop the evil mystical villain Dormammu from destroying Earth. He traps Dormammu in a Time Loop and frees him in exchange for him not hurting Earth again. He then uses the stone to fix all the damage and everything's okay. It is first realized it is an Infinity Stone when Wong says it is not wise to wield an Infinity Stone after Strange puts it back.
In the Infinity War trailer, it is seen with Strange. As Strange is just one man, this stone has several possibilities:
1. Thanos kills Strange to get to the Stone
2. The Stone is the last one gotten, but right before Strange uses the Stone to save everyone
3. Thanos doesn't get to it.

6. The Soul Stone  (???)

Appears in: Avengers: Infinity War

The Soul Stone is the last Stone to be seen on screen. As seeing that Black Panther is the only film left before Infinity War, it's a safe bet that the Soul Stone will appear in there, probably as Wakanda's power source.
In the Infinity War trailer, lots of the scenes are set in what would appear to be Wakanda, including one where hundreds of evil minions go to battle with the native Wakandians, which makes the Stone being in Wakanda all the more plausible.

So, there you have it. 10 years of film stuffed into several paragraphs and a couple of pictures.
